D. Moench is an internationally experienced architect and urban designer of public and private projects of all sizes. As a Brazilian- German, who spends his professional life between Europe, Latin America and Asia, he fosters an approach to architecture revolving around the fruitful dialogue between culture-specific vernacular architecture and the universal values of modern architecture.

His work has received many prestigious awards, among which are the „Europe 40under40 Award“, which recognized Moench as one of Europe‘s 40 most promising emerging architects under the age of 40, the Chicago Athenaeum‘s „International Architecture Award,“ as well as the „Faith & Form Award“ co-sponsored by the American Institute of Architects.

In 2011 he founded INUCE with offices in Switzerland and China. His work focuses on the fields of residential and office architecture, the revitalization of historic old town areas, as well as religious architecture. In addition to his professional career, he served as Associate Professor at the University of Fuzhou, where he taught architectural and urban design. In 2023 he completed his Doctoral Dissertation on the genesis of contemporary Chinese churches titled „China‘s New Churches: The Evolution of Contemporary Church Building in Fuzhou,“ at the Department of Architectural Theory at the Technical University of Berlin.
